The details

How our pricing works

Families dealing with an arrest are often hit with confusing, hidden costs. We take the opposite approach — here's exactly what you pay and why, in plain language.

Our approach

Searching our nationwide directory is always free, and you are never charged simply to look someone up or to read our guides. You only pay when you choose a plan or a service, and the full price — including any service or processing fee — is shown to you before you confirm. There are no surprise charges after the fact, and you can cancel a subscription plan at any time.

Combo plans explained

The Stay Connected, Family Support, and Complete Care plans bundle the three services families use most — discounted phone minutes, printed letters, and care packages — into a single monthly (or yearly) subscription. Bundling keeps your total predictable and works out cheaper than buying each service separately. Choose yearly billing to pay once and save about 17%, roughly two months free. Unused monthly allowances don't roll over, and you can move up or down a tier whenever your needs change.

Bail bonds pricing in detail

When you use a bail bond rather than paying the full cash bail yourself, you pay a premium to a licensed bail agent, which is typically around 10% of the total bail amount and is set within the limits of state law. In exchange, the agent posts the full bail with the court so your loved one can be released. This premium is the agent's fee for taking on the financial risk, and it is generally non-refundable once the bond is posted. In some cases an agent may also ask for collateral — property or assets that secure the bond and are returned once the case concludes and all court obligations are met. We are transparent about how bail bonds work so you can decide whether a bond or paying cash bail directly makes more sense for your situation.

Letters & photos pricing in detail

Sending mail through us is priced at a flat $2.99 per letter (up to three pages), with the price covering printing, formatting to the facility's specific rules, and postage. You write your letter or upload your photos online, and we handle the rest. Adding photos is available for a small $0.99 per-photo fee. Pricing this way means you know the total cost up front, and you avoid the hidden expense of items being rejected and returned because they did not meet a facility's requirements — a cost that adds up quickly when you mail on your own. On a plan, a monthly allowance of letters and photos is already included.

Care packages pricing in detail

For care packages, you pay for the items you select plus shipping. The available items and their prices depend on what each facility approves through its commissary or approved-vendor catalog, since rules differ from place to place. We show you what is allowed for the specific facility before you build your package, so you are not paying for items that would simply be turned away. The total, including shipping, is displayed before checkout. Standard packages start at $29.99, and Family Support and Complete Care plans include a monthly package at no extra cost.

Discounted phone calls pricing in detail

Inmate calls are expensive largely because facilities use a single contracted provider that charges high per-minute rates plus fees. We've built direct relationships with those facility phone providers, so instead of billing per minute, our discounted calling service gives you a flat $9.99 a month for 500 minutes — no local number to set up, no per-minute surprises. Your inmate calls your existing phone number, and the call is billed against your discounted plan. Every combo plan includes a monthly minute allowance built in.

No hidden fees, ever

We believe pricing should be something you can trust, especially at a time when money is often tight. That is why we show the complete cost — including any service or processing fees — before you pay, explain what each charge is for, and never bill you for searching. Where a free or lower-cost alternative exists, such as certain facilities that offer free calls, we will tell you rather than hide it.

Comparing your options

For most services there is more than one path, and the cheapest option depends on your situation. You can pay full cash bail directly to a court instead of using a bond, mail a letter yourself instead of through us, or use a facility's own commissary deposit instead of a care package. Doing it yourself can cost less in fees but takes more time and carries more risk of rejected items. If you use several services every month, a combo plan is usually the best value; if you only need something occasionally, pay-as-you-go keeps it simple. Either way, we'll always be honest about when a free or lower-cost alternative might suit you better.

Payment and refunds

Payments are processed securely through trusted third-party payment processors. If your plans change, our refund & cancellation policy explains exactly when an order or subscription can be cancelled for a refund and how refunds are issued for each service — generally, you can cancel for a full refund before an order is fulfilled. If you have a question about a specific cost, contact our support team or read the frequently asked questions, and see how it works for a step-by-step overview.
