Our general approach
If we have not yet incurred a cost or started fulfilling your order, you should be able to cancel and receive a refund. Once a bond is posted, a letter is mailed, a package ships, or calling minutes are used, refunds are generally limited. If something went wrong on our end, we will make it right.
TruthFinder subscriptions
Paid background-check and arrest-record searches redirect to TruthFinder. Billing, renewals, and refunds for TruthFinder memberships are handled solely by TruthFinder under their Billing Policy. PrisonAssist.com does not charge your card for TruthFinder subscriptions and cannot process refunds for them. To cancel recurring billing, follow TruthFinder's cancellation instructions promptly — subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled.
Bail bonds
Once a bond is posted, the premium is generally non-refundable under industry practice and state law. If a bond has not yet been posted, contact us immediately to ask whether cancellation is still possible. Collateral return is governed by your bail agreement with the licensed agent.
Letters & photos
Full refund before printing and mailing. After mail handoff, items cannot be recalled. Facility rejections due to our formatting error may qualify for reprint or credit.
Care packages
Full refund before shipment. After shipment, case-by-case credits or replacements where a compliant package was rejected through no fault of yours.
Discounted phone calls
Unused balance may be refundable per underlying provider terms. Setup fees, service periods already begun, and completed call charges are generally non-refundable. Contact us for technical failures that prevented paid calls.

Chargebacks
Contact us before filing a bank dispute so we can resolve billing issues quickly. Chargebacks may delay resolution and affect account access.
