Missouri DOC: Offender Search, Digital Mail, Visits & Money

This page holds the inmate records we have on file for the Missouri Department of Corrections (MO DOC). Missouri runs a statewide system through its Division of Adult Institutions, and the person you are looking for could be housed at any of its facilities and may be transferred during their sentence. The records below are a historical directory of custody entries we hold — a starting point for identifying the right person and taking the next step — not a live count of any single facility, so confirm anything current against the state's official search. For more on this facility — history, programs, and what to expect — see our full facility profile.

How to find someone in MO DOC

Missouri provides a public offender web search where you can look someone up and see their current facility and status. On this page you can also browse the records we hold by last name (A–Z), gender, or age to narrow a common name, then confirm the current facility and DOC ID through the state search. Because people are transferred between Missouri institutions as their classification changes, a record here can lag behind a recent move, so verify before you plan a visit or send anything. For questions about an offender or a facility, MO DOC Constituent Services can be reached at (573) 526-2695. Our inmate search guide for this facility walks through this in more detail.

Mail now goes to a digital mail center in Tampa

This is the single most important thing for Missouri families to get right. As of July 1, 2022, personal mail is no longer accepted at Missouri correctional facilities — all personal mail is scanned and delivered electronically. Postal correspondence must be addressed to the resident's name and DOC ID in care of the Digital Mail Center – Missouri DOC, P.O. Box 25678, Tampa, FL 33622-5678. If you send a letter to the prison's street address, it will not reach your person. Families can also send electronic mail, digital greeting cards, photos, and even 30-second videos through a Securus/JPay account. Note that offenders cannot receive food, clothing, cash, money orders, checks, stamps, or stamped envelopes through the mail.

Sending money

You can add money to a person's account electronically through JPay, or mail a money order or cashier's check with a DOC deposit slip to the Offender Finance Office. Because personal mail no longer goes to the facility, be careful to follow the finance office's specific deposit instructions rather than sending funds with a letter. Money on the books lets a person buy commissary items and cover communication costs, and for many families this steady, practical support is the most useful thing they can offer. Always include the DOC ID so the deposit reaches the right account, and allow processing time before the balance is available.

Visitation limits and scheduling

Visitation in Missouri is generally limited to three visitors per offender, and up to three additional visitors age five and under may be included. The number, length, and schedule of visits vary by facility, and weekends may be reserved for immediate family or a single visitor of the offender's choice. Adult visitors must show a valid photo ID such as a current driver's license or state Department of Revenue ID card. Once your person is assigned to an institution, confirm that facility's specific schedule and rules, get on the approved list, and plan for screening at the entrance.

Phone calls and electronic contact

Calls are placed by the incarcerated person out to numbers on their approved list, so set up and fund an account with the facility's phone provider in advance and make sure your number is approved so their calls connect. Missouri's electronic-messaging options through Securus/JPay — including short videos — can be a faster way to stay in touch than physical mail, which now routes through the Tampa scanning center. For families who talk frequently, lower-cost calling arrangements can meaningfully reduce the expense over a long sentence, and combining calls, messages, and visits keeps the connection strong.

Programs, parole, and reentry

Because MO DOC holds sentenced people, many families are also navigating classification, earned credits, and parole rather than a pending trial. Missouri offers education, vocational, and treatment programming, and participation can matter both for a person's daily life and, in some cases, for their release timeline. Staying closely involved — encouraging participation and helping line up the practical pieces of reentry, such as housing and identification — is one of the most effective things a family can do, and consistent contact is associated with smoother transitions back to the community.

Keeping contact steady

Over a long sentence, consistency matters more than anything. A dependable rhythm of digital letters, funded calls, and money on the books gives your loved one something reliable to count on. Coordinate among family so contact is spread out, keep small balances on the phone and commissary accounts so nothing lapses, and double-check that you are using the Tampa digital-mail address and the correct DOC ID so nothing you send is delayed or returned. Small, steady support usually matters more than occasional grand gestures.

Reading this page responsibly

Every entry here is drawn from public records and captures a moment in time rather than the live state of Missouri's prison system. People are reclassified, transferred, and released, so a listing can be out of date, and details such as a name, an identification number, or an age may be recorded imperfectly — a reflection of the underlying data, never a comment on the individual. Read any record as a pointer, and settle the facts through the state offender web search, which is the authoritative source. If a person you know is missing, they may be held locally, moving through intake, or newly admitted, so give it a day and try again, or search on the last name alone. Above all, an arrest or a listing is not a conviction; everyone here retains the presumption of innocence.

Next steps

Confirm your loved one's DOC ID and current facility through the offender search, then use this page to keep track and take the next step — address your first letter to the Tampa digital-mail center, set up JPay so basics are covered, and get on the visiting list. Everyone listed here is presumed innocent or is serving a sentence after conviction; a listing here is not a judgment. Verify anything time-sensitive with the facility or Constituent Services before you travel or send anything.
