ICSolutions (The Visitor): Inmate Phone & Video Visitation

By , Senior Author · 2026-06-23 · 7 min read

ICSolutions (Inmate Calling Solutions) is a correctional communications company best known for its phone service and its "The Visitor" video visitation platform. It's part of TKC Holdings, the same corporate family behind the Keefe commissary brands. If your loved one's jail uses ICSolutions, one account covers both calls and video visits.

What ICSolutions offers

  • Inmate phone service. Prepaid accounts that let you receive calls from a facility ICSolutions serves.
  • The Visitor (video visitation). Both onsite visits (on a terminal in the facility lobby) and offsite remote visits from your own device.

A convenient detail: you can use the same ICSolutions account for inmate telephones and for visitation — no need to manage two logins.

How to register

  1. From any internet-connected device, go to icsolutions.com and log in, or create an account with a username, a 4-digit PIN, and a password.
  2. Select Register for Visitation, enter the facility name, and agree to its visitation rules.
  3. Enter your loved one's last name or ID to add them, and select your relationship. You can only visit people on your approved list.
  4. Fund your account under the Prepaid Collect Accounts section so you can pay for fee-based offsite visits and calls.

Depending on the facility, your registration may sit in a "pending" status until a video administrator approves it — especially for "privileged" (e.g., attorney) relationships.

Onsite vs. offsite visits

Onsite, lobby-terminal visits are often free or low cost, while offsite remote visits are fee-based and the price varies by facility, charged to your ICSolutions account when you schedule. To visit remotely you'll typically need The Visitor app (the ICS Mobile app on Android/iOS) or the Windows edition. Note that internet problems on your end during an offsite visit generally aren't refunded, so test your connection first.

What it costs and what to know

  • Calls: per-minute rates fell under the FCC's Martha Wright-Reed caps that took effect April 6, 2026; confirm the current rate for your facility.
  • Support: reach ICSolutions technical support at 888-646-9437.
  • Monitoring: calls and non-privileged visits are recorded and subject to review.
