Access Corrections is the deposits-and-messaging platform of the Keefe Group, one of the largest names in correctional commissary and services. Founded in 2007, it's the system many facilities use to let families put money on an inmate's books and send screened electronic mail.
What Access Corrections offers
- Secure Deposits. Send spending money to an inmate's account, with funds guaranteed and often posted in real time at a kiosk.
- Secure Mail. Send electronic mail (reviewed and approved by facility staff before it reaches the inmate), which cuts contraband risk.
- Court, probation & parole payments, and bail payments where the facility enables them.
How to send money
- Create an account at accesscorrections.com or in the mobile app.
- Choose Send Money, then select the state, the agency/facility, and your recipient by last name or ID.
- Accept the terms and enter your Visa or Mastercard details to complete the deposit.
Ways to pay
Access Corrections gives you several options beyond the website:
- Toll-free by phone
- The mobile app
- A self-service lobby kiosk (accepts cash; deposits can post in real time)
- Mail to a lockbox service (typically processed within about 48 hours)
- Retail walk-in locations nationwide, such as Cash Pay Today and ACE Cash Express
What to know
- Not every facility offers every service — confirm what's available for your location.
- Deposits and Secure Mail are monitored; the kiosk photographs depositors, and Keefe's "Data Detective" software flags people depositing to multiple inmate accounts.
- Use the inmate's exact committed name and ID to avoid rejected or delayed deposits.
